We can spend our time insulting him until then. :)
we might as well get comfortable. do you have cards in your bag of tricks?
and don't even think about considering trying to hide something in your sleeve, or i'll chop the entire arm off.
maybe i should do it pre-emptively.

"We've learned and struggled for a few years here figuring out how to make a decent phone,'' he said. "PC guys are not going to just figure this out. They're not going to just walk in.''
I do see what he's getting at there, Apple haven't done a portable device that can stand on its own in several years now. The iPod arrangement works so well because much of the dirty work was offloaded to the host computer.
A lot could depend on how much Apple learned from what Newton got right and wrong, and how much knowledge disappeared (or didn't) with its retirement.

OK, now seeing that creeped me out. I need to turn that chart into a font.

BUT i'm curious whether the satnav apps are waiting on the mount's fix or taking first availalble? ... i would hope they'd wait on mount since ultimately it should have more precision since it's called 'enhanced' GPS, but how can you tell for sure?
one thing i've tried is to remove the iPhone from the mount after navigating and see if it disrupts the GPS signal w/in the satnav app ... i would expect there to be a switch over to internal GPS and see a small disruption ... but i'm not getting a disrupted signal ... can't be sure one way or the other
Here's what I've noticed in just one day of use. I'm using Navigon and I did download the TomTom Free App to stop the message from appearing each time. With my 3Gs docked in the car kit, I get the my directions locked in about 5 seconds from when I hit the "Start Navigation" button. I also tried an experiment in my garage, where my phone was unable to get the GPS signal, but docked I had a route in motion in under 5 seconds. Still experimenting.....

So if the final preview is at WWDC, when do you imagine we'll get the release? If if was like Snow Leopard it will be towards the end of August.
Thinking of getting a new MBP this year so does anyone know the the timeframe is for the up-to-date program?

The rumors talking about the iPad 3 are mostly saying it would be a different model than the current iPad. There's multiple Macbook Pros. Don't be surprised if there are multiple iPads, like an iPad pro.

Capacity bump now, full update September(ish)?
Now in what way would that possibly make sense? Are you being serious or just plucking out of thin air?

yep. and he knows where all the treasures are so he can protect them with his minions.
the worst part is that we don't know if and how many points he had at the beginning, and/or if any monster or trap was pre-placed in the mansion. Nor we know the 'price-list" and stats of monsters and trap (all of which i think we should)
the good part is that the villain is dumb as a bell so he probably placed all the traps and monsters to guard his barbie-doll collection ;)
beatrice, that part is outdated and has been superseded by a more updated interpretation of how traps work. i think post 47 is a more current version of the rules.
so, where do you want to go?
Ahh, ok. I'm only really trying to check back with the OP to avoid further confusion. And yes, to the door at the end of the hallway.
And goodness, Beatrice makes me feel like I'm 100 years old.

I hope it is. I'd rather they delay and release a better version of the OS with significantly more granularity for modifications, features, and so on, than what is essentially a .1 release with a few new "features". But, as others have said, this is purely speculation. Remember the rumours that the iPad 2 was delayed? Exactly. Just **** made up to manipulate the stock price.

Mac is still a success nonetheless...
Will be the same for the iPhone. Apple is happy with 2 models on 2 providers in the USA...
Mac still doesn't have the software selection of Windows. Mac succeeds in spite of it's lack of developers because owning a Mac became "cool" at some point in the past 15 years. Microsoft shooting themselves in the head with Vista helped as well.
Can the iPhone succeed when devs start to divert resources to Android development? Will the "cool" factor of owning an iPhone save it when the next "Angry Birds" type game is only available on Android? Or when major corporations develop Apps for their employees that require them to own Android phones (as happened with DOS/Windows back in the 80s and 90s)?
Apple is happy now because they're making money. The gravy train will end when the balance reaches a tipping point -- as the PC market did -- where it simply isn't profitable to divert resources away from the majority market share to develop for the minority market share.

Apple is just trying to protect the user experience for their product.
Yes, it is ours to use and do with whatever we want once paid for, but.........
Every jailbroken iphone user will complain and tell somebody that their phone always freezes up or isn't working right.
They are not going to say in most cases it freezes, because I jail broke it!
That info makes it look as if it is Apples fault that things don't work.
:confused:My jailbroken iPhone 4 doesn't freeze on me. You shouldn't just make stuff up to defend Apple.

You foolhardy "heroes" are going to elect a leader who has barely made it past more than a couple of days in the WW infected village of MRville? You actually think such a decision will improve your chances of getting out of my mansion alive. MUHAHA HAHAHA!

Definitely 288.
And no, it doesn't depend on how you read it. Actually, I suppose that's not true. Anyone who looked at the equation and figured out it was 288 was right, and everyone else who sees it otherwise was wrong. :p

How so?
The current method is "the OS DVD you buy can be used anywhere, as often as you like, forever."
How could it be worse than that?
The licence is only for one computer.
If you want to install it on a different machine you must uninstall the original copy first.
The Mac App Store says:
"You can install apps on every Mac you use and even download them again."
That implies that if I go on a friend's computer for 5 minutes once a year I could install Lion on it for no charge.

Transmeta sucks....like black hole sucking.
Ehe... I had no idea... Then again, (I hope I'm not starting a flamewar here :D ), the G4 kinda "sucks", performance-wise, when compared to a C2D...
I'm not saying that the OQO is a top performer. I never tried one and haven't seen benchmarks on the Trasmeta, so I'll take your word for it.
But, I mean, just look at the *size* of that thing! Apple could conceivably produce a product like that with an ULV processor, and with similar (or even better) specs, right?

I hope I can upgrade as soon as the iPhone 5 is released. This 3GS is getting old.
Agreed!
What am I supposed to do when my contract ends this July!?

I'm not sure why there are so many jerks on this forum with such a negative attitude with respect to MobileMe. It is an excellent E-Mail system that Apple obviously devotes time to keeping spam free. That in and of itsself is worth a little bit. Combined with the other features it is a reasonable value.
Let's face it everything else that is free is so only in name. The reality is instead of you advertisers are paying for it. Frankly that sucks because they then dictate what the system is capable of because the service is there to serve their needs not yours.
Besides this report has to be read carefully. If you do so you will see that syncing services are to be offered for free. That doesn't imply all of MobileMe. If it is actually a focused freeing up of syncing services I could see Apple making the offer. After all it would work very well with all the 3G devices coming on line.

That is the proper answer, the equation is not ambiguous.
Wrong. As I posted, the expression as typed here is ambiguous because its interpretation depends on the conventions used. It has nothing to do with understanding or not mathematics. Both 2 and 288 are correct answers, according to the conventions you used.
I don't get why some people think that "/" is somehow a separator or something. That is a mystery to me. But the original expression could be interpreted as 48/(2*(9+3)) if you're in the juxtaposition=grouping clan.

9 Things the Rich Don't Want You To Know About Taxes (http://www.wweek.com/portland/print-article-17350-print.html)
It's a long article so here are some excerpts;
WTF does someone even do with 9 billion dollars?
Don't you remember, it trickles down? Key points from your article.
1. Poor Americans do pay taxes.
2. The wealthiest Americans dont carry the burden.
Contrary to what Rand Paul says. The income tax is less than half of federal taxes and only one-fifth of taxes at all levels of government.
3. In fact, the wealthy are paying less taxes.
4. Many of the very richest pay no current income taxes at all.
5. And (surprise!) since Reagan, only the wealthy have gained significant income.
6. When it comes to corporations, the story is much the sameless taxes.
7. Some corporate tax breaks destroy jobs.
Due to loopholes and tax havens like the Cayman Islands. Average incomes fell during Bush years.
8. Republicans like taxes too.
President Reagan signed into law 11 tax increases, targeted at people down the income ladder. George W. Bush signed a tax increase, too, in despite his written ironclad pledge never to raise taxes on anyone.
9. Other countries do it better.
